Increasing your email database with Facebook ads

In this post we’re going to help you really leverage Facebook ads to increase your web traffic, leads, database and of course sales. By using Facebook ads together with custom apps you can direct visitors to the exact space on your Facebook page that’s been designed to convert them.

Using Facebook ads this way has a much higher conversion rate -as much as 50% higher by some estimates, than ads that take the user away from Facebook.

Step 1-Create your custom app


First you need to create a custom app that appeals to your target audience. Offer them something you know they want – a free download, regular enewsletters or a money off voucher -as a reason to sign up and hand you their email address.

Use the banner space for great images or a teaser video that highlights exactly why the user should sign up for more from you. This is your chance to let them know the value of their sign up.
 

OK! You’ve created a brilliant bespoke custom app.

Now you need traffic that goes directly to this little lead generator, rather than hanging around your timeline.

Step 2- The Facebook ad

Choose your page in the ‘Destination’ field

 


Choose the specific custom app you’ve just created in the ‘Destination Tab’ field-
In this case we’ve used one of the ‘Offer’ LikeIt Pages apps

Don’t forget to target your ideal audience: Is this for fans, their friends, or anyone?

 

Now for the ad itself – A nice concise headline, followed by a strong and simple call to action. 2 sentences should be plenty. Choose an image that compliments your text:

Step 3- Results
 

Once the Facebook ad is up and running, analyse that data-see what works for you.


Don’t be afraid to make tweaks to your content, change your headlines and split-test by running more than ad at the same time.
Experiment with:

•    The Facebook ad content- especially that call to action
•    The custom app itself- Try different value adds like money-off vouchers or competitions as well as free relevant content- All of these can be easily created with LikeIt Pages apps
•    Targeting- Do you want to incentivise more likes or do you want to convert those fans into a mailing list?
